The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech transforms lives through exploration and engagement with the arts and creative process.
The arts will be a deeply embedded and highly valued part of life at Virginia Tech, in Southwest Virginia, and for members the Virginia Tech community wherever they live and work in the world.
The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech is dedicated to learning, discovery and engagement. We believe that engagement with the arts can transform lives and improve the human experience and that through a diverse range of programs, our audiences, artists, faculty, staff, students of all ages, and communities can experience significant growth and development.
The Center of the Arts at Virginia Tech refers to both university-level arts programming initiatives, and to the physical spaces (performance hall, visual arts galleries, creative technologies labs and studios) that comprise the new facility. We will provide arts experiences that embrace both classical and traditional art forms and contemporary expressions, and that reflect the diverse world around us. We will seek artists of regional, national and international significance who share our passion for learning, discovery and engagement. Because we believe that experimentation drives progress - in the arts just as in the sciences - we have a commitment to research and collaboration, new works, emerging fields and artists.
